There is much more to my relationship with Fran than our international side, but I’m here to describe my experience as an American in my relationship with a Spaniard. So, for now I will bless your scroll with insight into the bliss and challenge of speaking Spanglish, sharing cultures and traditions, and finding what feels like home in a person. For us, it also is the best and the only way to fearlessly practice our second language. We often get lost in translation but thanks to it, we get stronger every time.
Am I in a Healthy Relationship?
I met a girl in a cafe at an English speaking club while spending a summer in Ukraine. I talked to her enough to get her number but quickly realized that her English level was very basic. Still, we managed to use what knowledge we had to set up a date for the following weekend. What on earth are we going to talk about for an entire date?!
Beautiful People. Standard Spanish has a load of different ways to say somebody (or something) is beautiful or attractive. But most of these are far too serious.
Dating is tricky and very complicated. There are a lot of factors to take into consideration. There are so many ways to meet someone these days: online, through an app, by speed dating, being set up on a blind date, and more. From there, though, you are talking to a complete stranger. What does trust mean? Trusting someone means that you think they are reliable, you have confidence in them and you feel safe with them physically and emotionally. Trust is something that two people in a relationship can build together when they decide to trust each other. Building trust within a healthy relationship happens gradually. How do you know if you should trust someone?
This can be a hard question to answer, especially at the beginning of a relationship, but your own instincts about another person and the way they behave over time are two important things to consider when making that decision. Building trust requires mutual commitment. So, as your relationship progresses, ask yourself:. Does your partner listen to you and support you? Are they sensitive to your problems, worries and fears? Do they show compassion and genuinely care about you?
A person who is trustworthy is able to demonstrate consideration and care of others.
